Legacy of Support – Archive
This archive reflects the moments when Divas With Disabilities® stood with communities facing crisis, loss, or urgent need. These initiatives are no longer active, but they remain part of our story — a record of how we show up, speak out, and support those most impacted. We honor these past responses as reminders of our ongoing commitment to equity, visibility, and collective care.
At Divas With Disabilities, we believe in showing up for communities when they need it most. Over the years, we’ve shared messages of solidarity during moments of crisis — from natural disasters to national tragedies — as a way of standing with those most impacted.
As time passes and these moments move from urgent to historical, we’ve created a new section on our website called Legacy of Support. This space preserves those messages so our community can see how we’ve shown up, while keeping our active work and current initiatives clear and up to date.
Our commitment to equity, visibility, and collective care continues. This archive simply honors the path we’ve walked together.

LA FIRES: WE’RE HERE TO HELP
The devastation caused by the LA wildfires is unimaginable. Homes have been lost, lives disrupted, and communities forever changed.
For Black and Brown women and girls with disabilities, these challenges can be even more emotionally and mentally overwhelming.
At The Divas With Disabilities Project (DWD), we understand the emotional toll disasters like this take and are committed to providing the support that’s needed most.

Black and Brown women and girls with disabilities often face unique barriers in disaster situations, such as inaccessible evacuation plans, limited access to healthcare, and difficulty finding mental health and emotional support. Beyond the immediate challenges, the stress, anxiety, and grief from such life-altering events can feel insurmountable without proper resources and care.
We’re Here to Help
Our mission has always been rooted in uplifting and supporting Black and Brown women and girls with disabilities. In times of crisis, this mission becomes even more crucial. Here’s how we aim to support:
- Creating Safe Emotional Spaces: We’re connecting women and girls with disabilities to support groups where they can share their experiences and receive emotional and mental encouragement from others who understand.
- Access to Resources: We’re curating a list of accessible resources, from mental health services to housing assistance, tailored to the needs of disabled individuals.
If you or someone you know is struggling emotionally or mentally in the aftermath of the wildfires, we’re here to listen, support, and guide you toward the resources you need.
Together, we can ensure no one is left behind, even in the face of adversity.
