Creators’ Statement
Divas in the City was born from a simple but powerful truth: The stories of women with disabilities—our brilliance, our leadership, our everyday lives—deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated without apology.
As two Black disabled women committed to shifting culture through storytelling, we created this digital webseries to amplify the voices that too often go unseen. We wanted to show the world what we already knew: that Divas With Disabilities are out here leading, creating, building, and thriving in every corner of our cities.
This series reflects our shared vision, our lived experiences, and our belief in the transformative power of authentic representation. Every episode honors the women who show up as themselves—boldly, beautifully, and without compromise.
We are proud of what Divas in the City sparked, and we are honored to share this work with the Divas With Disabilities community as part of a continuing legacy of visibility, creativity, and unapologetic truth.
